The word yoga is often interpreted as “union” or the way to practice from the Sanskrit word. The word “yuj” (to yoke or tie). Male entrepreneurs are called yogis, female entrepreneurs, yogis.
Modern western methods of doing yoga are not based on beliefs or religions, but yoga is based on Hinduism and Brahmanism. Yoga was developed primarily by a seer or ascetic who lived in southern India. The seer observes nature and is as close as possible to study the world in various aspects of nature, animals, and himself. By observing and imitating the different gestures and habits of the animal kingdom, they can develop grace, strength, and wisdom.
It was through a very disciplined life that practicing yoga was developed. It is necessary to develop a set of postures so that the body is weak and able to endure stillness for a long time when in meditation.
Brahmanism goes back to the days when there was a holy scripture called “Veda.” These scriptures contain guidance and incantations. It is in the oldest text “Rg-Veda” from the Bible that the word yoga first appeared this nearly 5,000 years ago. The fourth text is called “Atharva-Veda” has many spells for magical rituals and for health care that many people use medicinal plants. This text provides spells and incantations that people commonly use in their daily lives, and this “Veda” practice can still be seen in the streets of India today.
Bhagavad-Gita Another ancient work about spiritual life describes itself as a yoga textbook, although it uses the word yoga as a spiritual method. It comes from this literature that Patanjali’s “Eight Arms of Yoga” was developed. Yoga Sutra is related to development. “Nature of the mind” is the main and I will explain further in the next section.
